Dr. Danyal A. Malik, MD

Danyal A. Malik, MD is a Cornea and Refractive Surgery Fellow at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He earned his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Public Health from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Dr. Malik has a special interest in corneal and ocular surface diseases, including ocular graft-versus-host disease, as well as corneal and refractive surgery. His research focuses on inflammatory conditions of the ocular surface and the use of immunomodulatory therapies. He has published research in leading medical journals, including JAMA Network Open and the Journal of Clinical Investigation, and has received research and academic honors throughout his training.

Committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, Dr. Malik also has a strong interest in medical education and community service. He has participated in programs providing free vision screenings and healthcare services to underserved communities.
